Superdome is at the NCHPC

One of the state of the art technologies in the workstation market, the Superdome, is now available in our center. Those who work with high volume of data use mostly by service provider and superdome. HP develops Supedome.

Superdome is used for the first time in a university in Turkey.

The new system, while offering the users more compute power, configuration change on the fly, and error correction capabilities of UNIX it minimizes the downtime.

HP Supedome is IA-64 compatible and allows multiple operating systems.

PRACE Project

Super computers are used for finding an approximate solution for complex scientific problems.

In order to continue the internationalcompetition European scientists and engineers (super computer team) plan to have collaboration

PRACE (The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) plan to have sustained high performances on computing and long lasting infrastructures. This infrastructure will be managed as a singly European entity.

European technology specialists and scientists aim to have a super computer that has at least the same capabilities or more than its counterpart in the USA and Japan.

Turkey progresses its work to be a member of this project through our center. Ph. D. Serdar Çelebi, representing our center, will be in Amsterdam in May 2008 to have the first meeting on the matter.
