National High Performance Computing and Parallel Programming Summer School
The third of a series of workshops on high performance computing and parallel programming is being planned for July 2008. The first and the second workshops took placed respectively in July 2007 and January 2008. You can make a pre-application for this workshop with limited enrollment through its web page.
National High Performance Computing and Parallel Programming Winter Workshop
The second National High Performance Computing and Parallel Programming Workshop will take place from January 21rst through February 1rst, 2008. The first one took place in July of 2007. For more details, you can visit http://workshop.uybhm.itu.edu.tr.
The NCHPC's system moved from 353rd place to 239th on 'fastest top 500 computer' list.

On the list announced at the International Supercomputer Conference, in Dresden, Germany (http://www.top500.org/list/2007/06/300), NCHPC's system, upgraded at the beginning of the year, ranked 239th with a sustained performance of 6067 Gflops.

Turkey moved from 32nd to 29th position on the country list.
High Performance Computing Summit
On May 22nd, 2007 a high performance computing (HPC) summit took place where Proline, HP and Intel shared their knowledge in the field, examined developments and trends, emphasized advantages achieved through its uses, and exchanged know-how on lowest cost solutions.
Principles titles covered at the summit:
● Basic workings of HPC and advantages for business processes
● HP's HPC servers and infrastructure solutions
● HP's high performance data storage products
● Application development for high performance computing
● An introduction to the National Center for High Performance Comptung Center
The summit included a visit of the National Center for High Performance Comptung Center's facilities and ended with cocktail party.
